You should also wear protective clothing such as hats, sunglasses, and long sleeves, and apply sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 every two hours or after swimming or sweating. Sunscreen helps block or reflect some of the UV rays that reach your skin, but it does not provide complete protection. Therefore, you should also seek shade whenever possible and avoid tanning beds or lamps that emit artificial UV radiation.
